Improvised Encounters is a 30-minute live collective creation bringing together 5 to 6 artists from different disciplines (dance, music, text, visual arts), unfolding entirely in the moment and without rehearsals.
The session is entirely improvised, begins at 0 minutes and ends at 30.
Invited Artists for Session #1: Erwan Keravec (Musician & Composer), Compagnie Relevant (Dance), Marion Alzieu (Dance) & Ugo Tumino (cook)
Erwan Keravec is a highland bagpiper, composer and improviser. In seeking out the moreunusual sounds, and ways of playing and listening to his instrument, far from its original cultural setting, he is exploring improvised music, free and ‘noise’ jazz, and establishing a repertoire of contemporary music for solo pipes, trio with solo voice and with choir. With an interest in movement and in settings associated with reinvention, he also writes, plays and improvises for dance.
Marion Alzieu is a choreographer, dancer, and contemporary dance teacher with over 15 years of international experience in performance, creation, and teaching. She has worked with major companies across Europe and Africa, including Faso Danse Théâtre, Mouvements Perpétuels, Compagnie Kaplan, and Jasmin Vardimon Company.
As founder of Compagnie Ma’, she creates a unique choreographic language blending contemporary dance with urban influences, with notable works including Hold Fast (2024), Si c’est une fille (2022), and the solo Ceci n’est pas une femme blanche (2014), which has won multiple awards internationally.
Cie Relevant is a Lyon-based collective of five choreographers and performers, united by a shared background in cultural outreach and hip-hop training. Formed during the ID program in 2017, they officially structured as a company in 2021. Their works, including UPSHOT and STAND OUT, explore contemporary social themes through dance while emphasizing collaboration, diversity, and community. Committed to accessibility and education, the company runs outreach projects in schools, hospitals, and prisons, making dance a space for reflection on identity, human relationships, and society.
