Maqamat are now inviting expressions of interest from artists looking to participate in MOULTAQA LEYMOUN for 2018 which will be taking place 13 - 15 April 2018. A series of performances, studio presentations, training sessions, workshops, round tables, and discussions, Moultaqa Leymoun introduces young emerging artists from the Arab World to international and local guests. The aim of the platform is to present a clear view of participants skills as performers and makers and make their work visible internationally. The success of the six previous editions has been well recognised and many young artists had been able to establish themselves and make use of the opportunity of this platform. In doing so, Moultaqa Leymoun continues to spark the curiosity and interest of international presenters from all around the globe to know more about what is happening in dance the Arab World. MOULTAQA LEYMOUN 2018- The Outcome
The past 7 Editions of MOULTAQA LEYMOUN are still resonating.MOULTAQA LEYMOUN is a platform that showcases and promotes the work of Arab and Iranian choreographers. In addition to facilitating a crucial network and dialogue between participating artists, MOULTAQA LEYMOUN has succeeded in sparking the curiosity and interest of international presenters from all around the globe to know more about what is happening in dance in the region.
The outcomes of MOULTAQA LEYMOUN have been immense, resulting in international performance, touring, residency and workshop opportunities for participant artists. Following the event in 2017 alone, more than 50 performances were scheduled, with some works continuing to tour as a result of this exposure.
Looking forward to the outcome of 2018 that already started to appear!After the 2018 Edition that took place within BIPOD-Beirut International Platform of Dance in April, dancers and choreographers were introduced to a large audience of international presenters and are already invited to perform internationally, give workshops, be part of residencies and new creations.
