About the Artist: Safar is a Lebanese duo founded in 2013 by Mayssa Jallad (vocals) and Elie Abdelnour (electric guitar). They currently live across continents from one another, playing shows when they reunite, whether in the USA or in their hometown Beirut. Their music is "a very personal take on American and British psychedelic folk, infused with modern pop and rock references, as well as subtle references to the Lebanese golden age of 60's surf." (Ziad Naufal, Ruptured) They released the EP "Studies of an Unknown Lover" in 2018 and "In Transit" , a compilation of their first three EPs in 2017, all produced by Fadi Tabbal at Tunefork Studios. The band possesses a strong and widespread following in Lebanon, gathered over the years thanks to a number of intimate performances marked by singer Jallad’s emotional vocal delivery and Abdelnour’s intricate guitar work.

"سفر" (Safar) هو ثنائي لبناني، أسّسه في العام 2013 كل من ميساء جلاد (مغنية) وإيلي عبد النور (غيتار كهربائي). يعيشان بعيدا بعضهما عن بعض، إذ تفصل بينهما قارات، إنما حين يلتقيان يُحييان عروضاً موسيقية، سواء في الولايات المتحدة أو في مسقط رأسيهما، بيروت. تضيف موسيقاهما "لمسة شخصية الى موسيقى الـ"سايكيديلك فولك" الاميركية والبريطانية، علما انها مطعّمة بموسيقى البوب العصرية وموسيقى الروك وبلمسات خفية لموسيقى السورف من العصر الذهبي اللبناني الذي يعود الى ستينات القرن الفائت".تتمتع "سفر" بقاعدة واسعة ومخلصة من المعجبين في لبنان، بفضل احيائها على مرّ السنين العديد من الامسيات الحميمة التي جمعت بين صوت جلاد المؤثّر واحساسها العاطفي ودقة عبد النور ومهاراته في عزف نغمات معقّدة من الغيتار.

About the Performance: Safar will be performing in Beirut at Citerne for one night only! They are joined by Pascal Semerdjian and Marwan Tohme (Postcards) for a special full-band performance of songs from their album, latest EP, as well as some new material. This is a fantastic event you don’t want to miss!

سوف يحيي "سفر" أمسية واحدة فقط في العاصمة وتحديدا في "سيتيرن بيروت"! ينضم الى هذا الثنائي باسكال سمردجيان ومروان طعمه (Postcards) من اجل تقديم أمسية، تجمع فريقا كاملا لتأدية أغنيات من ألبومهم، وأعمال أخرى من أحدث إصداراتهم اضافة الى بعض الاعمال الجديدة. إنه حدث رائع لا تريدون تفويته!
