Dance People - Le Happening,

the final celebration festival of Creative Europe Project, Shift

Lyon 19-21 June 2026

We invite artists, choreographers, dancers, researchers, architects, poets, circus artists, social thinkers, and other creatives, whose work engages with space, community, and shared action to apply and send their performances and artistic proposals.

SHIFT is rooted in questioning spatial hierarchies, dissolving the distance between performers and audiences, and creating new formats of expression that move from visual aesthetics toward aesthetics of action.

We are looking for proposals that:

• explore collective presence and participation,

• challenge conventional uses of space,

• open new forms of dialogue between artists, citizens, and communities,

• reflect values of generosity, care, and togetherness with a strong critical approach to current political realities.

Artists from across Europe and the Mediterranean are encouraged to apply.

La célébration finale de Shift, un projet Europe Creative

Lyon, du 19 au 21 juin 2026

Nous invitons les danseur·euse·s, artistes chorégraphiques, chercheur·euse·s, architectes, poètes, artistes de cirque, penseur·euse·s de la société et autres créatif·ve·s dont le travail interroge l’espace, la communauté et l’action partagée à candidater.

SHIFT est né de la volonté de questionner les hiérarchies spatiales, de dissoudre la distance entre artistes et publics, et d’imaginer de nouveaux formats d’expression qui glissent de l’esthétique visuelle vers une esthétique de l’action.

Nous recherchons des propositions qui

• explorent la présence et la participation collectives, 

• détournent les usages habituels de l’espace, 

• ouvrent de nouvelles formes de dialogue entre artistes, citoyen·ne·s et communautés, 

• portent des valeurs de générosité, de soin et de partage, avec une approche critique forte des réalités politiques actuelles.

Artistes de toute l’Europe et de la Méditerranée, vous êtes invité·es à nous envoyer votre proposition.

دعوة للفنانين، المصممين الحركيين، الراقصين، الباحثين، المعماريين، الشعراء، فناني السيرك، المفكرين الاجتماعيين وغيرهم من المبدعين، الذين ينخرط عملهم في قضايا الفضاء، المجتمع، والعمل الجماعي، إلى تقدّيم طلباتهم

ينطلق المشروع من مساءلة الهرميات المكانية، وكسر الحواجز بي المؤدين والجمهور، وابتكار صيغ جديدة للتعبير تتحوّل من مفاهيم الجماليات البصرية إلى مفاهيم جماليات الفعل والمشاركة

تستكشف الحضور والمشاركة الفنية الجماعية

تعيد ابتكار الاستخدامات التقليدية للفضاء

تفتح أشكالاً جديدة من الحوار بين الفنانين والأفراد والجماعات

تعكس قيم السخاء،والإنفتاح والعمل المشترك، مع مقاربة نقدية قوية للواقع السياسي الراهن

نشجّع الفنانين من مختلف أنحاء أوروبا ومنطقة البحر المتوسّط على التقدّم

Co-funded by the European Union, SHIFT, which stands for ‘Shaping Harmony, Innovating Forms & Thought’, questions the forms of space organization in people’s lives culturally, politically and socially. The project seeks to explore new formats of artistic expression, community engagement, and audience interaction, involving artists, experts, and citizens from multiple EU and Mediterranean countries. By fostering a shift from mere observation to active participation and immersion, SHIFT focuses on investigating new spatial relationships, and shifting the emphasis from 'visual aesthetics' in conventional venues to dynamic 'aesthetics of action' in adaptable, non-dedicated performance spaces
